1. Submission information
When you submit a website, RareWeb stores the website URL and domain, founder name, email address, product name, category, description, imported logo URL, chosen card color, acceptance time, and applicable terms version. Review decisions, reviewer notes, and notification delivery records may also be retained to operate the editorial workflow and prevent duplicate or abusive submissions.
2. Payments and email
Startup Directory checkout is provided by Dodo Payments. RareWeb stores the identifiers and status needed to match a payment to a submission, but payment-card details are handled by the payment provider. Transactional emails are sent through an email delivery provider using the address supplied with the submission.
3. Analytics and outbound visits
RareWeb uses privacy-conscious website analytics and records aggregate listing clicks to understand which catalogue surfaces are useful. Technical request data may be processed for security, rate limiting, error diagnosis, and service reliability. RareWeb does not promise that third-party websites linked from listings follow this privacy policy.
4. Your choices
You can request correction or removal of your submitted information by emailing support@rarewebmagazine.space. Some records may be retained when reasonably necessary for security, payment accounting, legal compliance, or enforcing the Terms & Conditions.
5. Editorial methodology
Submission review
RareWeb checks whether a submitted website is publicly reachable, functional, safe to visit, accurately described, and relevant to people discovering independent software. We may reject parked domains, placeholders, redirect-only pages, prohibited content, misleading claims, or products that do not provide a usable software experience.
Most decisions are sent within two business days, although queue volume can change that timing. The submitter receives the outcome at the email address provided. Rejections may include an editorial note, and a rejected domain has a 24-hour cooldown before it can be submitted again.
Open Shelf and Startup Directory
A website can appear in only one RareWeb catalogue at a time. Open Shelf publication is free. Startup Directory submission is also free to review, but approved founders receive a private link for a one-time $5 publication payment. Moving an Open Shelf website into the Startup Directory removes its Open Shelf listing.
Daily and Weekly Picks
Picks highlight a limited set of eligible published products for a defined daily or weekly period. Selection considers usefulness, clarity, originality, relevance, and variety. Paid startups receive priority consideration for designated paid positions, while free Open Shelf products remain eligible for designated free positions.
A product cannot occupy overlapping active Daily and Weekly selections. Empty eligible pools may leave positions unfilled. Publication, payment, and prior selection do not guarantee a future Pick. See the Terms & Conditions for the binding rules.
6. Contact
For listing, review, payment, correction, removal, privacy, or partnership questions, email support@rarewebmagazine.space.
Include the website domain and the email address used for submission when asking about a listing. For factual corrections or removal requests, explain your relationship to the product and the exact change requested. RareWeb may ask for reasonable proof that you are authorized to act for the listed website.
Never send passwords, payment-card details, private API keys, or other sensitive credentials. If an expected submission or payment email is missing, check spam first and then contact support with the product name and domain.
7. Attribution and trademarks
Product names and logos
Product names, logos, trademarks, and service marks shown in listings belong to their respective owners. Their appearance identifies the linked product and does not imply sponsorship, partnership, or endorsement of RareWeb. Some showcase logo assets are provided through Simple Icons or the product owner’s public website.
Descriptions and links
Listing descriptions may be imported from public website metadata, supplied by submitters, or edited for clarity during review. External destinations remain under the control of their respective operators. RareWeb’s original interface, editorial copy, curation, and brand assets remain RareWeb materials.
Corrections
Rights holders can request a factual correction, logo update, or removal by emailing support@rarewebmagazine.space with the relevant domain and supporting details.
